About Business Continuity Awareness Week
The world has seen the chaos that can be created from the impact of various forms of disasters. Natural disasters, biological disasters, political upheavals, terrorist acts and the potential for a pandemic have heightened our awareness of the need to secure effective methods of communication and put infrastructure in the right place at the right time. Having key infrastructure and communications in place in the event of a disaster, and understanding how to deal with cultural issues can significantly enhance recovery. Our focus is not only on emergency management but on setting up the infrastructure and communications through the business continuity process to meet future challenges.
Business Continuity Awareness Weeks (BCAW) have been organized internationally since 2005 to raise awareness, and promote and enhance business continuity management and emergency response in both the private and public sectors. BCAW is the ideal forum to educate your organizations on the importance of business continuity planning by sharing experiences, knowledge and best practices. Industry groups partner with the intent to provide practical ideas that organizations can use directly and share with external business partners. The BCAW website provides access to this information at any time. Together we can help our own organizations and beyond be better prepared to handle adversity when we least expect it.
